Today, January 15, the Governor announced that regions 1, 2 and 5 are now allowed to operate under Tier 2 enhanced mitigations.
Region 8 will remain under Tier 3 resurgence mitigations until:
1. Experience less than a 12% 7-day rolling average test positivity rate for three consecutive days
2. Have greater than or equal to 20% intensive care unit (ICU) and hospital bed availability for three consecutive days
3. Have decreases in the region’s COVID-19 hospitalizations as a rolling average in 7 out of the last 10 days."
Here are our current stats...
Region 8 (DuPage and Kane counties only):
1.) Current test positivity rate 9.8%
2.) Current ICU bed availability 24.7% and current medical and surgical bed availability 16.7%
3.) 9 days of COVID-19 patient decreases.
Tier 2 will begin to allow some youth recreational sports, small group fitness classes and casinos to reopen.
Restaurants and bars will be allowed to return to in-person dining at 25% capacity in Tier 1.
Retail partnerships for vaccines, such as at Walgreens, will come online on Jan. 25.
